GIGANTEUS Miscanthusproduktion signed the first supply contract with a landholder in Hungary. The first stocks are already planted.

Miscanthus in addition to wood biomass and bark. According to Johannes Büchinger, who is responsible for the biomass heat plant Pyhra, Miscanthus is a stable biomasse sorce. The consortium from Belgrade plans to plant 500 ha of Miscanthus giganteus in Voivodina together with GIGANTEUS Miscanthusproduktion in the next two years. From the strow electricity and heat are produced. The plant generates green electricity for 11.000 households.

Sensationell concept - Miscanthus for greenhouses in Canada - Giganteus delivered washed rhizomes. Giganteus delivered in April 2009 Rhizomes for heating 5 hectare of greenhouses in Canada. The farmer will halve the costs for heating trough changing from gas to Miscanthus.

Our farm is located in the in the eastern part of the region Mostviertel in Lower Austria where are excellent conditions for the cultivation of Miscanthus sinesis Miscanthus sinesis `Giganteus´. We are specialist for the cultivation and the utilisation of this specific plant.

Vision

Our vision is to establish Miscanthus as a considerable source of biomass in Austria and in Europe. Through the production of rhozomes and the development of utilisaiton concepts we want to realize this vision.
